EDIT: I just realized that today is not Monday, it's Tuesday. Labor Day threw me off.
lol
Today I am sharing some of my earliest music memories.
My earliest music memory is Steamroller.
I must have been about 4 or 5 years old.
My dad would sing this and roll over me. lol
I'm not sure why I remember this song.
There aren't any specific memories connected with it.
I don't remember ever seeing that show, and it was years before
I found out what song I was singing.
I just remember singing "red, white, and blue ooh ooh ooh."
I must have been 7 or 8.
I don't know exactly how old I was, but I must have been younger than 10.
We were having some sort of cook-out with my dad's family.
This song was playing and my grandmother started dancing.
Someone said "She thinks he's singing about her!" and everyone laughed.
I remember my maternal grandmother singing this:
My grandfather once played this record for me- I must have been 8 or 9.
I remember smiling and hugging him when it was over.
At the time I didn't fully recognize the significance, but now it makes me bawl.
Sniff, sniff...so sweet
