Index-Card-A-Day

I was going to make come ICADs (index card art) today, but I got sidetracked.  I ended up looking through all of my old cards. The top photo is of some of my favorite ones.  The bottom picture is of all my cards.
I have to say, I really love these goofy cards. I can’t draw.  Not even a little. So I know they're not very good. But it’s fun to do, so I do it anyway.  That’s a life lesson I’ve learned:  if you enjoy doing something- even if you’re horrible at it- you should do it because it feeds your soul.  Don’t get discouraged and quit because you don’t get the results you envision.  Just enjoy the process.
I love how they’re all different.  I love how some of them are quotes that relate to certain times in my life….I guess it could be a form of journaling.

Weekly Crafty Update

This is all the progress I've made on my summer sampler. There are 25 of these squares to complete. I don't think I'll be done by the end of summer. I should have bought a winter sampler. I might have had time to finish it before Christmas. lol

If I don't finish it this year I will put it away until next summer. I still have my poppy one to finish, and a few others waiting in my stash of patterns.

I bought a mini StitchBow binder this week. I like it so far.  It's just the right size to hold all my stitching necessities.

I had already wound all of the floss for my current project on bobbins, so I was unable to try the Stitchbow bobbins.  I  punched holes in a Ziploc bag and put it in my binder.  It works nicely.
This is what the bobbins look like.  I'm also eyeing the Stitchbow armchair organizer.   I can't decide if I need it or not.

These are my most recent index cards.
My son made the bottom one for me.
He made one for everyone in our family.
In case you're wondering about the middle one,
I was angry because the store next to our house cut their grass and blew trash all over our yard.
And I just realized that the first card is upside down.  I guess it doesn't really matter. lol

I also finished one row on our mother/daughter blanket. I didn't take a picture because it's not significant enough to make a difference.

And that's all the crafting I've done in the last week. Hopefully I'll have more progress to share next week. :)

Until Next Time...

Weekly Crafty Update

I've finally finished the first square!  I am a slow stitcher.

The beginning of square two looks like a pickle.  It's actually a watermelon.
I plan to devote more time to finishing this in the coming days.

My latest ICAD.  I haven't been doing them every day, so I guess I can't call them ICADs.  lol
This is the blanket L. and I are working on together.  It's currently 10 x 5 squares.   Our plan is to make one for each of us, so we will have mother/daughter blankets.  When we’re done with this one I will choose the colors for mine.
