Snow!

I realize this is nothing to some people, but to us it’s a rare occasion.

And because it’s a rare occasion, when it snows at midnight in Louisiana, you go outside and make tiny snowmen. The time of day is of little consequence.  Snow could quite possibly be a once-in-a-lifetime event.

It snowed about 4-5 years ago.  Before that, the last time it snowed was when I was 5 years old (I’m 39).  My youngest son was too young to remember the last snow, so this is brand new to him.  He’s so excited!  I can’t imagine telling him that he couldn’t play in the snow because it’s too late at night.

So, even though it’s late, they are playing outside for short intervals at a time.  After warming up with electric blankets and hot cocoa, they head out into the winter wonder again….because we all know that it will be gone all too soon.
