Weekly Round-up

 Weekly Round-Up is where I collect all of my personal posts and favorite snippets from various web sites like Facebook and Tumblr.  If you follow me on other sites, this may be redundant. 

(I guess I should rename this to Semi-Weekly Round-up, because I do it every 2-3 weeks instead of once a week).

9/8/13- My yard is a mess. A lot of my plants are finished, and some need pruning. Tree branches need to be trimmed. It's just too HOT to do it. I guess it's going to have to wait a few more days/weeks until it cools off a little.... or until I can't stand it anymore. lol   I'm also hoping to get my boys to paint the trim on the front of the house. Fall needs to hurry up! (Facebook)

9/8/13-Watched the whole 2nd season of Downton Abbey yesterday. Now I have to wait for ssn. 3 dvds from Netflix. It won't be easy. #impatient #hooked (Twitter)

9/2/13- I made baked potatoes in the crock pot. They came out perfect. I love my crock pot! (Facebook)

9/1/13- Today is the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Gustav.  I’m only mentioning it because it was a turning point in my life. I’ve always had issues with depression and social anxiety, but  Gustav triggered a mental breakdown for me.  From September ‘08 to January ‘09, I could barely function.  I was constantly shaking from anxiety, unable to sleep, and having panic attacks for no apparent reason.   At the time I thought I’d never get relief.  No medicine I tried worked, they only made me much worse.  Finally,my doctor decided to try me on Cymbalta.  It worked, and I began a long road to recovery.  

Five years later I am still on Cymbalta, and I still struggle sometimes.  I’ll never be the same person as I was before 2008.  But, thank God, I am on the other side now.   I am a survivor.  (Tumblr)

9/1/13- I dreamed that I was crocheting paper clip cozies. As in, cozies for individual paper clips.

8/30/13- A local school is on lockdown because a man with a gun entered the building. 
He's thought to be hiding in the school. Praying hard. (Twitter)

Update on school situation: there were no shots fired (thank God!!!!), but the guy got away somehow. All students are home and safe.
